Volunteer/Service Opportunity For SIS
Volunteering for SIS is a great way to help our local Wilmington area, get connected in our AA fellowship, and make it possible to be there for the newcomer. See below for the opportunities that are available for service. You can apply by completing the sign-up sheet below and designating which service opportunity you're interested in.
Food Table
The food table requires three volunteers to set up, serve, and clean up. You'll need to arrive at shelter 6 by 9 am for setup; serving is from approx 11:45 am till 2:00 pm; and break down/clean up by 2 pm. There will be someone there to guide the organization and provide help where needed.
Coffee Table
The coffee table requires two volunteers to set up, serve, and clean up. Someone will be there to help and guide you. You'll need to arrive at shelter 6 by 8 am for setup, keep the coffee brewing as needed, and keep the carafes, creamers, and sugar/sweeteners filled. Cleanup will be at 2pm to pour out any remaining coffee and clean out the main coffee pot, carafes, and creamer containers. Someone else will be there to collect the coffee pot and carafes and help with the breakdown.
Clean Up Crew
We'll need four volunteers to help scan the area for any trash to be thrown in the receptacles that the park provides and will be given trash bags to help with the collection of the trash. To help with any additional clean up in the food shelter as well. We'll also have rubber gloves you can wear for sanitation as well as hand sanitizer. The time commitment is from 2-3pm.
